Linda Kyser Smith

New Mexico artist Linda Kyser Smith has been devoted to her painting career since 1987 when she began painting still lifes. She soon discovered, however, that her true love was painting people. Her intriguing studies of women in various poses from playful to pensive are highly sought after and she has developed a strong following at Brazier Fine Art for them. She says she is particularly drawn to portraying women because "they can be so glamorous, so dramatic, so poetic, and exotic. That quality, that inner beauty really attracts me." She also enjoys painting children. "They're so unbelievably lovely---to try and capture that is such a challenge."
Smith has studied with some the country's most prestigious portrait artists, including Everett Raymond Kinstler, Burt Silverman, Aaron Shikler, Harley Brown, Milt Kobayashi and Bettina Steinke.
She is an elected member of the National Arts Club, the Salmagundi Club, and Allied Artists of America, all located in New York City. Linda's portraits, still lifes, and landscapes may be found in fine galleries and museums throughout the United States as well as London and Dinan, France. Her paintings belong to private and corporate collections in North America, Europe, Japan, and Indonesia.
